There are more people who believe in "conspiracy theories" than you may think. Question everything you're told. If it doesn't make sense, then something is wrong. Do some research and investigate!
Ray McGovern, a 27-year career CIA analyst, wrote Collin Powell a letter asking Powell, "What Did You Know ... and When?" ...to come clean on what he knew about the behind the scenes intelligence reports from Naji Sabri and Tahir Jalil Habbush. ...info about Iraq's lack of WMD's that Powell omitted from his U.N. speech to push for the justification for the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.
Ray McGovern wrote:
"Most important, each independently affirmed that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, information that should have prevented you from making a fool of yourself before the U.N. Security Council."
Ray McGovern, during his 27-year career in CIA's analysis ranks chaired National Intelligence Estimates and briefed the President's Daily Brief to the most senior national security officials.
The White House had concocted a fake letter from Habbush to Saddam, backdated to July 1, 2001. It said that 9/11 ringleader Mohamed Atta had actually trained for his mission in Iraq — thus showing, finally that there was an operational link between Saddam and al Qaeda… The letter also mentioned suspicious shipments to Iraq from Niger set up with al Qaeda’s assistance. The idea was to take the letter to Habbush and have him transcribe it in his own neat handwriting on a piece of Iraqi government stationery, to make it look legitimate. CIA would then take the finished product to Baghdad and have someone release it to the media.
In 2004, plans were put into motion to crack down on voter registration drives in poor and minority communities, suppressing votes and stripping citizens of a constitutional right. Evidence points to Karl Rove as the mastermind behind this plan and it's time he was held accountable. Join the Secretary of State Project and thousands of Americans in urging the House to take a stand against Rove today.
The GOP's master trickster has his fingerprints all over a dirty scheme to suppress our votes. It's exactly the kind of scheme that the Secretary of State Project was formed to fight. And right now, we have a unique chance to hold Rove accountable for his acts.
For those not following Rove's story, here's a bit of background. In 2004, Justice Department lawyers started getting strange instructions from Washington -- crack down on voter registration drives. But not all registration drives, mind you; just ones that registered poor and minority voters. The idea was to harass progressive organizations and keep poor and minority citizens from getting to the polls.
Many Justice Department lawyers, Republicans and Democrats alike, balked at these unscrupulous orders. They (rightly) refused to carry out a partisan witch hunt. And wouldn't you know it, Washington started cracking down on THEM -- firing a host of them and passing up others for promotion, in what came to be known as the U.S. Attorneys Scandal.
But who gave the vote-suppression orders in the first place? All signs point to Karl Rove. A long trail of evidence indicates that Rove cooked up and executed the whole scheme. To uncover the truth, the House of Representatives has launched an investigation. They sent Rove a subpoena. He ignored it. Repeatedly.
Now, the House is considering a measure to hold Rove in contempt of Congress. Last Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee voted, 20-14, to hold Rove in contempt. The vote now goes to the full House. If found guilty, he could go to jail. No, it's not enough punishment for his years and years of crimes, but it's a huge start.
By holding Rove in contempt, we'll send a loud and clear signal to all Bush's cronies -- America's elections must be free and fair. Voter suppression will not be tolerated.
After you sign the petition, consider making a contribution to the Secretary of State Project and our candidates. Support from donors like you helped us raise $500,000 in 2006 and win 5 of our 7 elections. Help us continue building the movement against voter suppression, stolen elections and dirty tricksters like Karl Rove.

A federal appeals court has ruled President Bush can order the indefinite jailing of civilians imprisoned in the United States WITHOUT Charges.
The five-to-four decision effectively reverses last year's ruling that the administration cannot label US residents an "Unlawful Enemy Combatant" and jail them indefinitely without charge. The ruling came in the case of the only person still held as an enemy combatant on US soil. Ali al-Marri was arrested six years ago at his home in Peoria, Illinois, where he lived with his wife and five children. He was initially charged with credit card fraud and lying to federal agents.
In June 2003, President Bush declared him an enemy combatant and ordered him into military custody. He has spent the last four years in solitary confinement at a Navy brig in Charleston, South Carolina.
Al-Marri's attorney Jonathan Hafetz said, "This decision means the president can pick up any person in the country – citizen or legal resident – and lock them up for years without the most basic safeguard in the Constitution, the right to a criminal trial."
The Military Commissions Act of 2006 authorizes the President to detain anyone, including U.S. Citizens, without charge by designating them enemy combatants or unlawful enemy combatants.
The Military Commissions Act of 2006 authorizes the President to determine what constitutes torture.
The Military Commissions Act of 2006 authorizes the use of evidence obtained by coercion (TORTURE) and the use of hearsay.
Some people can't believe this is really happening. When confronted with information such as this, people sometimes respond with some type of apathetic comment such as, "As long as it doesn't directly effect me..." or the most incredulous statement, "It's THEIR country, I just live in it." For these people, this is just about the best ammo a person can get to help convince them that yes, it does DIRECTLY effect them! The President CAN point a finger at THEM and put them in JAIL FOREVER... JUST BECAUSE!!!
Yes, it does directly effect everyone because according to the Military Commissions Act of 2006, the President gets to define the meaning of "Unlawful Enemy Combatant." It is also the President (or his attorney General) who gets to decide who falls within the classification of "Unlawful Enemy Combatant." So... that effectively leaves out NO ONE! We are ALL effected!
Hmm... Isn't this how it works in dictatorship type societies such as China or Russia?
In July 1989 an American navy ship, the USS Vincennes, shot down an Iranian civilian plane, killing all 290 passengers and the crew in hopes of provoking Iran for a large scale confrontation. In January 2002, George Bush in his State of the Union speech referred to Iran --as well as N.Korea and Iraq- as part of an "axis of evil," saying the country is actively pursuing weapons of mass destruction. In 2006 US Congress appropriated $75 million to the State Department to use towards "democracy building" in Iran. This is was a turning point for how the US ruling class has finalized its war drive against Iran. Since October 2006, the US has been carrying out a massive military build up in the Persian Gulf. Provocations, Sanctions and military build up are all about a war drive. Without a doubt the US is preparing for a vicious military attack on Iran.
September 3rd was the last time US President George Bush set foot on Iraqi soil, bloodied and wrecked after over 4 years of US occupation. At this time he had a few words to share with the people of Iraq and the world:
"When we begin to draw down troops from Iraq, it will be from a position of strength and success, not from the position of fear and failure."
For the people of Iraq who have endured an estimated 1.2 million deaths (UK-based ORB polling agency), and countless humiliations since the March 2003 military invasion, the idea of ever seeing the US leave seems distant or impossible, let alone from a position of "success" and "strength." The US has a long-term plan for their continued occupation of Iraq and it includes continued death and destruction for the people of Iraq and a rising massive humanitarian crisis.
How the US is turning Iraq into a permanent military base
In a declaration of principles signed by George Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on November 26th 2007 the ground work was laid for a long-term agreement on future cooperation between the US and Iraq. In the political, economic and security (military) sphere the US and the installed Iraqi Prime Minister are starting to plan for an "enduring" relationship to last well into the future. The plan will include United States support for the "democratic regime in Iraq against domestic and external dangers," according to Al-Maliki. It also includes plans to protect the US-drafted Iraqi constitution, give preferential treatment to US investments and continued support for a strategic partnership. This is the beginnings of their plans for "enduring" occupation.
Another part of continued US presence in Iraq are the 14 "enduring" (read: permanent) bases whose construction began as soon as the US invaded. These bases are long-term encampments for US forces in Iraq and outposts for military and government policy advisors that will remain in Iraq beyond any troop withdrawal or formal end to the occupation of Iraq.
To compliment US bases and the continued occupation, the US has also built a $740Million Embassy in Iraq, the largest in the world. It will eventually staff an estimated 4,000 regular employees, contractors, local Iraqi employees and visitors. It will also house 619 apartments and 27 separate buildings behind the well-secured walls of the "Green Zone" in Baghdad and serve as the main base for representing US interests in Iraq.
After 4 and a half years of occupation the US has not established anything close to stability or the assurance of a successful US proxy regime in Iraq. They know that after a troop withdrawal there will be an internal struggle in Iraq and that it is very possible that its' outcome will not be in favour of the US. As an insurance plan for all the work they have done to fuel US interests in Iraq, they now have the military bases and US Embassy at their back.
Mercenaries and Continued Occupation
Continued US presence in Iraq would not be possible without the assistance of 120,000 mercenaries in Iraq, the contract employees of military corporations such as Blackwater USA, DynCorp International and Armor Group. According to US "Order 17", issued in 2004, all mercenaries operating in Iraq are exempt from obeying Iraqi law. In this way mercenaries are allowed to operate without rule of law or accountability to anyone, except the corporations that employ them. This has meant numerous tragedies, with the lives and dignities of Iraqi people disappearing under the radar.
After a September 16th shooting in which 17 Iraqi civilians were needlessly killed by a Blackwater guard in a Baghdad square, this provision and the legal loop-hole allowing them to escape charges under US law came under fire from people internationally. As a way to avoid further embarrassment and scrutiny the US government signed a new agreement in December 2007. This agreement means that contract mercenaries are now accountable under US law. Unfortunately, this still does not mean that they will be charged and they are still not held accountable under Iraqi law.
Human Crisis: Daily Life in Iraq
Over the past four years of US-led occupation, the human crisis has deepened in Iraq. Iraqi woman and children have felt the greatest impact from the presence of hundreds of thousands of foreign military troops taking away their basic human rights to housing, food, water, education and a future with guns, bombs and tanks.
According to the Iraq Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, over 1.6 million children under the age of 12 have become homeless in Iraq. This is almost 70 percent of the 2.2 million homeless and internally displaced persons in Iraq. To make the situation even worse, internally displaced Iraqi's are not finding the infrastructure and basic aid that they need anywhere in Iraq. As one example, the Basra province in Southern Iraq can no longer handle families and children seeking refuge. A senior Iraqi official in the Basra Governing Council, Hassan Abdul-Kareem, explained to IRIN News Service. "We cannot cope with any more families seeking refuge in our province, whatever their reasons. The governorate is seriously affected by the high number of displaced families, health services have deteriorated, schools are overcrowded and we aren't even able to offer a good service to our locals. Things have become worse since the high influx of new arrivals,"
The situation has also deteriorated for girls hoping to attend school in Iraq. Families and mothers are worried about sending their girls to school for fear that they will be raped or killed. They are also needed to stay at home as one-million families are now headed by widows whose husbands have been killed by the occupation and the violence it has created (Aljazeera News: "Debating the US troop 'surge').
The Heavy Costs of the Occupation
Everyday the US spends $280Million towards death and destruction in Iraq. According to the American Friends Services Committee, a US based peace and justice organization, if you include not just the immediate costs of the war, but also ongoing factors such as long-term health care for veterans, interest on debt and replacement of military hardware, that number grows to $720Million a day. The American Friends Services Committee also broke down these numbers into what the money could have bought for social service in the US including: homes for almost 6,500 families or health care for 423,529 children, or could outfit 1.27 million homes with renewable electricity. The US-Congressional report entitled "The Hidden Costs of the Iraq War," stated the cast of the war from 2002 to present as being $1.3Trillion.
Not only does this money mean the destruction of civil society and human life in Iraq, it has also been another part of the deepening economic crisis in the US. This crisis has been marked most recently by the devaluation of the US dollar, the crisis in mortgage and the banking market and the continued growth of poverty in the US. The crisis that the US has created in Iraq is directly tied to the crisis in the US and the disgusting amount of money spent to fuel death and destruction.
Resistance to the occupation: in Iraq and World-wide
For over four years the US has been relying on its' consolidation of the occupation to demoralize the Iraqi people, and the movement of resistance against their continued presence in Iraq. Contrary to their hopes, the number of demonstrations, strikes and attacks on occupying forces has increased drastically as the occupation has continued. The US is now confronted with a deep political, social and military crisis. This is why they need permanent presence in Iraq. This is also why the people of Iraq will keep fighting any way that they can for their land, lives and dignity.
The continued struggle of the Iraqi people against the occupation and the US crisis in Iraq has also meant that its own enlisted fighters, the US military forces, are demoralizing. US Army suicide rates are at a record high of 18.4 per 100,000 active duty soldiers, according to military reports. A CBS News investigation also showed that military veterans aged 20-24, meaning those whom have served during the so-called "War on Terror" in Iraq and Afghanistan, had the highest suicide rate among all veterans, estimated between two and four times higher than civilians the same age. The US cannot fight without a willing army, and suicides rates are only one of the signs that the US is loosing ground with the troops.
If the Iraqi's kick the US out of Iraq it will mean a weakening of the position of the US and Israel that would accelerate the struggle of people all over the Middle East against Imperialism. In this new era of war and occupation which emerged as the "War on Terror" following Sept 11th 2001, we must come together as poor and working people against the occupation of Iraq. As peace and human loving people, we have no other choice but to work to build a united and effective antiwar movement to end this brutal war and echo the demands of the Iraqi people for life and self-determination!
It is so nice to see some sun shine on the men behind the curtain. The sun shining on the Republicans has the same effect as sunlight on Vampires. Same thing really, just a different name. Just watch them squirm in the light of the truth. They can't stand it.
Cause of detainee death was HOMICIDE according to Army CID investigation autopsy!
An autopsy was performed as part of what seems to be part of an Army CID investigation of a detainee. The medical examiner said the cause of death was HOMICIDE!
''This 47-year-old White male, [redacted], died of blunt force injuries and asphyxia. The autopsy disclosed multiple blunt force injuries, including deep contusions of the chest wall, numerous displaced rib fractures, lung contusions, and hemorrhage into the mesentery of the small and large intestine. An examination of the neck structures revealed hemorrhage into the strap muscles and fractures of the thyroid cartilage and hyoid bone. According to the investigative report provided by U.S. Army CID, the decedent was shackled to the top of a doorframe with a gag in his mouth at the time he lost consciousness and became pulseless.
''The severe blunt force injuries, the hanging position, and the obstruction of the oral cavity with a gag contributed to this individual's death. The manner of death is homicide.''
This autopsy report by its self is very disturbing. And on top of that autopsy report, we have George W. Bush admitting he not only knew WHAT WAS GOING ON, but that key administration officials discussed specific torture techniques.
President Bush says he knew his top national security advisers discussed and approved specific details about how high-value al Qaeda suspects would be interrogated by the Central Intelligence Agency, according to an exclusive interview with ABC News Friday.
"Well, we started to connect the dots, in order to protect the American people." Bush told ABC New's White House correspondent Martha Raddatz. "And, yes, I'm aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved."
What makes me the most angry about this whole mess...
So... The REAL Terrorists attacked on 9/11. George W. Bush used these attacks to ILLEGALLY invade a country that had absolutely nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks. Then George W. Bush captures the people who tried to protect their country from his illegal invasion.
Then... George W. Bush imprisons these INNOCENT people with no charges, no access to an attorney, no Habeas Corpus.
All of this torture, George W. Bush says, is to ''protect'' the American people from the al Qaeda threat that didn't even exist before Bush invaded Iraq!
One of the best articles about the history of the United States.
''While administration apologists claim such sweeping and intrusive spying is necessary to "keep America safe," if history is any judge of past intelligence abuses these practices are designed instead, to "keep America in line," ever-fearful and obedient servants of our capitalist masters.''

Please watch all nine segments of this short video compilation that shows how the main stream media sanitizes and filters what we know. It's doesn't last very long, please take the time to watch.
If you took time to watch these video's, you have seen some prime examples of how the media has glamorized the war and sanitized and censored what you know. As the video's have shown, even if they run a correction later, the damage has already been done. The myth perpetuates.
The government and the main stream media carefully select what you may see on your television. They are very careful to limit or censor anything that may cause a PUBLIC REACTION.
Just remember, these same ''objective'' and ''unbiased'' media networks tell us what they want us to know about ''their'' presidential candidates. Any other candidates, such as Dennis Kucinich or Ron Paul, are minimalized or IGNORED ENTIRELY, whenever and wherever possible.
DO YOU KNOW... How many people are running for the Presidency of the United States of America? You might be surprised at THE ANSWER.
How is it that you probably have never heard of these other candidates?
Is it really a fair election if any one of these other candidates would be much better than the candidates the main stream media supports?
It is up to you... all of us, to make sure that elections are fair and that our votes are counted accurately.
We must devise a publicly funded system where every person who desires to run for president has just as much a chance at becoming president as any other candidate.
We need PUBLICLY FUNDED ELECTIONS! Is it fair that only the most wealthy of candidates get national exposure and those who are not wealthy remain unknown?

Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does -- and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to "shoot to kill" in the event of martial law. InfraGard is "a child of the FBI," says Michael Hershman, the chairman of the advisory board of the InfraGard National Members Alliance and CEO of the Fairfax Group, an international consulting firm.
At the time that the Central Intelligence Agency destroyed videotapes of the interrogations of operatives of Al Qaeda, a federal judge was still seeking information from Bush administration lawyers about the interrogation of one of those operatives, Abu Zubaydah, according to court documents made public on Wednesday.
"More than one million Iraqis have died as a result of the conflict in their country since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, according to research conducted by one of Britain's leading polling groups."
It's time for Bush to STOP LYING and get ALL of our troops out of Iraq, NOW!
We the undersigned are supporting the emergency mobilization of the people demanding that there be no new restrictions on free speech or protest related activities on the National Mall in Washington D.C. This is the real objective of the Bush Administration's plans for the National Mall.
Unless we take action, the Bush Administration, as one of its final acts, will leave office having dramatically altered access of the people to public lands that have been the site of the most significant mass assembly protests in U.S. history.
The National Mall has been the historic site for the people of the United States to come together to seek equality, justice, and peace. These activities are the lifeblood of a democracy. The National Mall is not an ornamental lawn. The National Mall performs its most sacrosanct and valued function when it serves as the place of assembly for political protest, dissent and free speech.
We oppose any efforts to further restrict protest on the Mall, to relegate protest to a government-designated protest pit or zone, to stage-manage or channel free speech activity to suit the government, or to stifle or abridge our rights to expression upon the public forum that is the National Mall. We call for a moratorium on further actions by the National Park Service that would in any way channel, restrict or inhibit the people's use of the National Mall in furtherance of our First Amendment rights.

"What I found was damning" - "While the FBI was investigating, several arms of the government were shielding what was going on." -- Sibel Edmonds
This article will really open your eyes to how the major media companies in the United States are NOT doing their jobs!!! As you read the Times articles, just think about what you DID NOT HEAR ABOUT in the U.S. media!
This information isn't hidden away inside some secret report somewhere, it is PRINTED in the UK Times, a MAJOR International NEWSPAPER.
Part of the article reads: Sibel Edmonds "said she heard evidence that one well-known senior official in the US State Department was being paid by Turkish agents in Washington who were selling the information on to black market buyers, including Pakistan."
Sibel Edmonds said "He was aiding foreign operatives against US interests by passing them highly classified information, not only from the State Department but also from the Pentagon, in exchange for money, position and political objectives."
Sibel Edmonds also said, "If you made public all the information that the FBI have on this case, you will see very high-level people going through criminal trials."
"What I found was damning," Sibel Edmonds said. "While the FBI was investigating, several arms of the government were shielding what was going on."
This article was published in the UK Times just three days after our previous article discussing Sibel Edmonds!

On January 22, 2007, Rep. Virgil H. Goode, Jr. introduced H.CON.RES.40 titled "Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada."
Alex jones and his crew has compiled a long list of news articles that mention the North American Union.
We have witnessed a congressional bill describing the North American Union. We have Alex Jones' huge list of news articles about it, yet people still won't believe it is real!
Pastor "believes a new 9/11 crisis could be the catalyst to merge the U.S., Mexico and Canada."
"The memoirs of Jean Monnet, regarded as the architect of European unity, finally disclosed he had used a strategy of deceit, knowing his plan to form a European Union would never succeed if it were openly disclosed."
"There has never been a more urgent need to preserve fundamental privacy protections and our system of checks and balances than the need we face today, as illegal government spying, provisions of the Patriot Act and government-sponsored torture programs transcend the bounds of law and our most treasured values in the name of national security." -- ACLU
"Seat belt legislation started with child-restraint laws, then secondary enforcement, and finally a full-on mandate in the majority of states. Why does this legislative escalation occur? It's simple. The federal government just incentivizes their proposal so that each state, and by extension its citizens, feel like they have no choice but to go along with their program."
U.S. health spending is projected to increase from 16 percent of GDP in 2006 to 20 percent in 2016--from $2 trillion to $4 trillion. Meanwhile, the number of uninsured Americans continues to rise. In this report prepared for The Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System, the authors examine 15 federal policy options that have the potential to lower health spending relative to projected trends. They include policies that would: produce and use better information for health care decision-making, promote health and enhance disease prevention, align financial incentives with quality and efficiency, and correct price signals in health care markets. Combining policies would capture the synergistic benefits of individual changes. If implemented along with universal health insurance, a combination of selected options could save $1.5 trillion in national health expenditures over 10 years, while also improving value in terms of access, quality, and health care outcomes.
Printed on page A6 of the Friday, December 7th issue of the Seattle-P.I. is this Associated Press (AP) news article which says it all, right in the same paragraph.
They are too afraid to use the word "TORTURE!" and instead call it, "harsh questioning methods."
The article goes on to explain in the very next sentence that one of the "harsh questioning methods" is "waterboarding, which simulates drowning."
Here is the key paragraph...
"CIA Director Michael Hayden said the CIA began taping the interrogations as an internal check on the program after President Bush authorized the use of harsh questioning methods. The methods included waterboarding, which simulates drowning, government officials said."
Notice how the author seriously plays down the fact that Bush authorized torture by how they worded the paragraph. The sentences should have said this, "President Bush authorized the use of TORTURE, including waterboarding, which simulates drowning."
"His sufferings must be that of a man who is drowning, but cannot drown." - Lt. Grover Flint, Philippine-American War
This video clip is from MSNBC's "Countdown" with Keith Olbermann.
What do you think was the real reason the CIA destroyed those torture tapes?
They didn't want to risk anyone knowing what they really did!!!
Think about this for a minute... Is it possible that any of the video's presented here may be very mild in nature compared to what really happened in Guantanomo?
The Senate plans to take up legislation as early as this week to rein in the Bush Administration's spying powers by reforming the controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). Caroline Fredrickson, director of the Washington Legislative Office of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), says that when Congress rushed through wiretapping legislation this past August, they made a grave mistake.
"The Administration bill basically writes August's mistake in stone," she wrote in a press release Tuesday. "It does nothing to protect Americans' communications and violates the Fourth Amendment requirement that courts supervise any spying on American soil."
"The surveillance program began in February of 2001. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the attacks of 9/11. These phone companies are cooperating with the government, not out of a sense of patriotism, but because they're being paid to do so. They're profiteers, not patriots.
"If the Congress grants these companies retroactive immunity it will mean they have no regard for the rule of law they took an oath to uphold. I've taken no oaths. The rule of law will mean absolutely nothing to me if this comes to pass."
Ok, so there it is in black and white. Both this article and this article were in the Seattle P-I newspaper. The media isn't going to come right out and say it, however, how naive does a person have to be in order to be incapable of figuring this out?

Lawmakers need to stand up for the Constitution and support impeachment
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. -- Article II, Section 4
On Nov. 6, Rep. Dennis Kucinich introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney on the floor of the House of Representatives. For one shining moment the will of the majority of Americans and the promise of this nation's founders were truly represented.
The detailed charges were solemnly read from the House podium and televised on C-Span. House Democratic Leader Steny Hoyer made a motion to table the bill. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi lobbied hard for votes to table.
In a stunning turnaround, House Republicans changed strategy and voted decisively to prevent tabling the impeachment resolution.
Pelosi was defied by 85 Democratic members who voted against tabling the impeachment resolution. This includes John Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and six committee members. The resolution was quickly voted back to the Judiciary Committee, where it is not resting quietly.
Judiciary Committee member Bob Wexler wrote, "The American people are served well with a legitimate and thorough impeachment inquiry. I will urge the Judiciary Committee to schedule impeachment hearings immediately and not let this issue languish as it has over the last six months. Only through hearings can we begin to correct the abuses of Dick Cheney and the Bush administration."
Impeachment is squarely on the table, and momentum is building. A year ago, almost no elected official breathed the word impeachment. Now impeachment has hit the House floor, and our electeds have gone on record. Millions of Americans are demanding an end to executive abuse of power.
After six years of state of emergency, the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, continual war and occupations, our Constitution is deeply in crisis. Americans are in danger of losing our system of government and civil rights if they do not roll back the Bush administration's assault on the rule of law.
Allowing Cheney and George W. Bush to finish their terms without being impeached means future presidents are free to copy their lawless behavior. Of course many important issues deserve the attention of Congress. But the Constitution is the foundation of our democracy, not just an issue. Without the Constitution, we have nothing.
Polls show that 74 percent of Democrats and the majority of American adults support impeaching Cheney. "Never in our history have the high crimes and misdemeanors been so flagrant, and the people of our country know it," writes local author Richard Behan.
Kucinich has targeted Cheney first, but investigations will implicate the president as well. For the first time in the history of the Gallup Poll, 50 percent of respondents say they "strongly disapprove" of the president. Richard Nixon had reached the previous high, 48 percent, just before an impeachment inquiry was launched in 1974. With these numbers, why aren't Bush and Cheney gone already?
The vice president is accused of:
purposely manipulating intelligence to fabricate a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction in order to justify an attack on Iraq;
deceiving Congress about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al-Qaida;
threatening aggression against the Republic of Iran, absent any real threat to the United States.
These violations of the Constitution and international treaty are just the tip of the iceberg. More articles of impeachment can be added at any time, and ample evidence to convict is on the public record. Representatives need to introduce articles regarding:
illegal war, in violation of both international treaty and the Constitution;
widespread domestic wiretapping in violation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, a felony. Bush already has admitted to this;
condoning torture in violation of federal laws and international treaties;
rescinding habeas corpus, the cornerstone of Western law since the Magna Carta;
obstruction of justice regarding U.S. attorney firings;
subversion of the Constitution, abuse of signing statements and rescinding habeas corpus.
It's astounding that our representatives to Congress carry on with business as usual knowing that Americans lack habeas corpus and a working code of law. I want my representative, Dave Reichert, to block the doors of the House until habeas is restored as a basic human right in this nation!
In light of Bush's steady drumbeat for war with Iran, Kucinich said he will consider an impeachment resolution against him.
"Impeachment may well be the only remedy which remains to stop a war of aggression against Iran," he says.
"The most conservative principle of the Founding Fathers was distrust of unchecked power. Centuries of experience substantiated that absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Constitution embraced a separation of powers to keep the legislative, executive and judicial branches in equilibrium," Bruce Fein, a constitutional lawyer and associate deputy attorney general in the Reagan administration, said in the October 2006 edition of Washington Monthly.
If Congress were serious about oversight, there already would be dozens of bills and resolutions calling for impeachment of Bush and Cheney. The "Unitary Executive Theory" violates the principle of balance of power in the Constitution. The president cites this "unitary" power in hundreds of signing statements that say he can ignore laws passed by Congress.
The First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments are all now subject to the caprice of government officials. The Military Commissions Act allows U.S. citizens to be detained without due process if they are declared enemy combatants. Without our permission, this country has become an exporter of torture.
Congress has failed to provide oversight and exercise its authority to rein in a criminal administration. Only swift action on impeachment can redeem it now. The people have done the heavy work of bringing impeachment forward. Representatives need only ask if the allegations are serious enough to warrant investigations.
George Bush and Dick Cheney promote an imperial presidency. They assert that the executive is the most powerful branch of government, undermining the judiciary and Congress in violation of the Constitution's bedrock principle of shared power among three co-equal branches. This subverts the very nature of our system of government.
"This is an attempt by the president to have the final word on his own constitutional powers, which eliminates the checks and balances that keep the country a democracy. ... That's a big problem because that's essentially a dictatorship," Fein said.
Washington For Impeachment and Citizens to Impeach Bush and Cheney are working to inform the public, collect signatures to petitions, provide forums, and lobby representatives. Washington was the second state to sponsor a bill for impeachment in the state Legislature.
Washington State Democratic organizations have passed resolutions in 11 Democratic legislative districts, five counties and the Washington State Democratic Central Committee. Jay Inslee, D-Bainbridge Island, has received impeachment resolutions from almost every legislative district within his congressional district. When will he represent the will of his constituents and honor his oath to protect the Constitution?
The national movement to impeach is a non-partisan effort to restore the Constitution and the rule of law. People across the political spectrum can unite to preserve the Constitution and civil liberties given to us by the founders. Impeachment is the peaceful, orderly, constitutionally prescribed way to rid ourselves of a lawless administration.
The issue is not about removing Bush and Cheney as much as it is about preserving the Constitution and redeeming the office of the executive. The Constitution is the contract of governance between the people and the government. What happens when major portions of the contract are violated?
Congress has failed to call the president and vice president to account, so citizens must turn up the heat. Members of Congress who fail to demand investigations are covering for criminals. Every elected official has sworn an oath to "support and protect the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic." Anything less than impeachment and a full repudiation of the Bush administration's crimes and violations of the law is a dereliction of duty and a betrayal of the public trust.
If we want our democracy back, we need to roll up our sleeves and get to work to clean out the House.
It is common knowledge that a large number of Americans are apathetic about many issues which may harm them. What they don't realize is how they came to be this way and why.
The REAL truth is... people are AFRAID to know the REAL truth!!! They are afraid to take the RED pill!! What they are actually afraid of is TRUTH that challenges their brainwashed concept of reality!!!
I am constantly trying to get people to "wake up" and free their minds. People like to "brush off" any coincidental facts which challenge their belief systems. However, these facts are presented in a way as to make them be seen as conspiracy "theories" when in fact they are very real conspiracies.
For those who have a hard time believing these facts, let me throw this impossible to "brush off" fact at you... but WATCH OUT because this one is going to sting a bit!!! This is just to show you how much the Bush administration REALLY "supports" our troops!
The next time you hear someone tell you how great President George W. Bush is... Just remind them of this! If this were just one incident, it would be coincidental, HOWEVER, this is but one incident out of an inconceivable number that have happened since George W. Bush has been President!
Now that you have one eye cracked open a bit... Why not open it even further by watching the video's listed at the top of this page. Ever heard the saying, "Everything you know is wrong." ...Think about that for a minute... It's not our fault that we are brainwashed.
One reason that we are brainwashed is because Ruppert Murdoch owns half of the media in this country, along with about six other corporations. You can challenge this, but will you? Or are you to apathetic to do anything?
Welcome to the age of mind control. It's been here for a while. Now if only we can realize how brainwashed we really are!
Here are SIX different DOCUMENTED times that a flase-flag attack was either planned or carried out against the American citizens by their own government in order to rally support for an agenda that can only become a reality through a fear campaign. And these are ONLY the ones that we KNOW about!
There is a great deal of skepticism about whether these events could be false-flag operations. So, to start off, I will give SOLID PROOF that, yes indeed, this is factual information. Just keep in mind the impact there would be if "everyday people" knew what really happened with some of these events! Do you think this would have any bearing on why psy-opdisinformation campaigns are used to confuse people and obliterate the truth?
Questions have been raised about whether these events were in fact false-flag operations. However, anyone who studies the evidence can learn the truth.
And, of course, this list would not be complete without including the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. You have probably seen some films about the JFK assassination, but do you REALLY know the REAL truth? Here I present to you something to seriously challenge what you THINK you know about the JFK assassination!
But first, a few words from the conspirator-in-chief himself, Geroge H.W. Bush. Remember, his father DIRECTLY FINANCED Hitler!
You may not now have time to watch all of the following video, but PLEASE come back and watch it! Do it for everything that is dear to you... Knowledge is power! Study these facts. Do some research on your own! LEARN THIS INFORMATION!!!
Once again, I have provided you with information that is meant to challenge your beliefs. Whether you investigate these facts is totally up to you. It is way to easy to "brush off" concepts which challenge your beliefs... doing this, however, is the procrastination which is keeping you from the truth!
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. --Article III, Section 3, United States Constitution (emphasis added)
The mainstream Democrats -- represented, say, by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Joe Biden, and Christopher Dodd -- have not levied war against the United States. Their treason lies instead in committing the second
